The first hour should be organized around care continuity, controlled technical response, clear communication, and accurate documentation. Confirm the scope, protect urgent patient-care functions, appoint one response leader, contact the approved IT or vendor representative, activate the appropriate downtime procedures, preserve relevant information, and issue one clear internal update.
